Hwy 63 Resurfacing Charrie Lane to Washburn County line:

The DOT will be continuing resurfacing of Hwy. 63 from Charrie Lane northward to the Washburn County line. This project will commence next week, but with no real impact to Cumberland-proper for a couple more weeks. This entire project is scheduled for completion by June 15th. One lane of traffic will always be open under flaggers. Impacts in the City of Cumberland will be minimal.

Hwy. 63 Bridge Replacement:

The DOT contractor has indicated a tentative start date of April 13th. Last week, however, the DNR threw a last-minute curveball at the project that could result in a modest delay. The extent of the delay is being evaluated and we'll know more soon. Everyone is committed to delaying the closing of the bridge until work can fully commence so that the closure isn't extended. When the closure does occur, it will be a complete closure for 84-87 days.

Local Road Improvements:

There are a number of local roads that will receive resurfacing treatments this summer. At this time, this work looks like it will commence in late-June to early-July. More details will be forthcoming in the near future.
